The Oxley – Meier Guitar Project is delighted to be performing a one-off Easter concert at Worton Kitchen Garden on the 30th March.

Having clocked up hundreds of concerts together throughout the UK and Europe over the last five years, they perform with an almost uncanny empathy in their interplay. Expect lush and scintillating soundscapes ranging from Turkey to Brazil with a selection of great jazz standards thrown into the mix.

Following the release of their third album, ‘The Colours of Time’, guitar guru and ECM stalwart Ralph Towner wrote:

“This album is a wonderful example of the high level of music that can be made by combining two great guitarists/composers/improvisers such as Pete and Nicolas. They have put together a feast of virtuosity, delivered with depth, wit and joy”

In a four-star review, the Observer said:

“When it comes to empathy, this duet of guitar virtuosi comes close to perfection”

And in another 4-star review, the UK’s leading jazz publication, Jazzwise observed:

“not just a guitar album to love, a jazz album to savour but a joyous album of music that reaches toward a goal beyond”

But on no account think of these guys as just a ‘jazz guitar duo’…the music comes from a way broader palette (they are also performing at major world-music festivals) and as the Guardian noted (in another 4-star review):

“these two resourceful maestros reach out to a wide audience”

This is a rare opportunity to see these masters in such an intimate setting; book early for a very special evening!
