A very exciting announcement this week – we have eventually secured a full alcohol license. Our range will increase over the next couple of months and we hope to hold wine-tastings as soon as circumstances allow. We already have a few treats including the Frelin Roussanne that many of you remember from the wine-tasting back in February. We also have a delicious summer rose from Domaine Begude in the Languedoc – made, unusually, from pinot noir grapes, this is the perfect glass to accompany the Thai mussels on this week’s menu below.
Stunning seasonal produce again with tomatoes, cucumbers, roasting onions and shallots in their prime. Star of the show will be the aubergines which are growing prodigiously – plump, purple and firm, we will have these for the next few weeks.
The excellent plum harvest continues – this week we have the Yellow Pershore – a honeyed golden dessert plum with a hint of acidity in the skin. On sale in the shop both fresh and as a jam, they will also feature in the plum galette.
For those who were disappointed by the non-arrival of seafood last week, our sincere apologies – we still aren’t certain whether this was due to breakage or piracy!! New couriers this week so we are hoping for a much more propitious out turn! There will be scallops, monkfish, mussels, clams and whiting fillets both to buy in the shop and as dishes in the restaurant.
