It may be a damp, autumnal morning as you look out of your kitchen window but all the more reason to head over to Worton for some warmth and Autumnal cheer!
Four of our girls went for their day trip this week and we have been busy in the kitchen since their return. We have 50kg of slightly spicy, succulent Tuscan Fennel Sausages for sale in the shop together with with Grilled Sausages and Coco Beans on the menu. Also on the menu will be the end of last months pork in the form of
Jambon Persille and Smoked Bacon with Beluga Lentils. Finally, we will have 18hr Roast Shoulder as the centrepiece of the menu tomorrow. All delicious and all, as my Grandfather used to say, food to “put feathers on your chest” – warming, hearty food to help ward off the cold, the damp and the long evenings!
Of course the best way to cheer up a gloomy mid-November Saturday night is to come out for Dinner with us here at the farm. We are already fairly booked up for this evening but there are a few tables free – as an extra incentive, we will serve a free glass of Mulled Wine or Apple juice for any later bookings who mention this email!
Sticking with our pork, there are another 3 saddlebacks to be butchered on Monday. If anyone would like to pre-order a particular cut, do let me know. We have a professional butcher on site and we should be able to prepare exactly the cut you would like if you send me an email by tomorrow evening. Whether you are looking for a pork chop, a bone in loin to roast, a shoulder, hand or piece of belly, we will prepare your cut for collection/delivery next week. I won’t be able to quote a precise price till we have cut and prepared your meat but as a guide, the price will be 10-15kg.
On the seafood side we have a great range up from Cornwall this weekend – Lemon Sole make a return, Sardines and Anchovies are plentiful, St Austell mussels as plump as ever and our favourite Plaice. All for sale in the shop and the restaurant
The whole team look forward to welcoming you this weekend.
