Stunning and Sumptuous!

Following our nomination as a finalist for the Muddy Stilettos Farm Shop/Deli of the year, we were delighted to be named as one of Waitrose Weekend’s Hidden Gems.  The above photo of our glasshouse and terrace tables with the strapline “Stunning and Sumptuous” was the main photo for a feature listing restaurants nominated by Restaurateurs and Chefs as the places they themselves chose to eat.  If you didn’t see the article, you can access by clicking here or if you visit Waitrose in the next day or two you will still be able to pick up a hard copy.

Our list of home grown produce is getting ever longer.  This week we have the first of the season’s Blackcurrants, lots of Beans (Broad, French and Runner) together with plentiful Artichokes,  Turnips, Broad Beans, Brokali, Romanesco Cauliflowers, Parsley, Coriander, Basil and Mint, Lettuce, Carrots and Beetroots.

Arriving on Wednesday, we will have a broad range of fish and seafood.  For the adventurous, we will have Cuttlefish which we will be serving braised in its own Ink on Griddled Polenta.  There will also be delicious Sardines grilled with a Gooseberry Compote.  Both fish will be available to buy in the shop together with Lemon Sole, Scallops, Clams, Crab and Lobster.

Those of you who have come out for early evening drinks or dinner already know how very beautiful the garden is as the sun westers.  With the weather at last looking balmy for the next couple of weeks, we hope that lots of you will take advantage of our longer opening hours to visit for dinner or drinks on Friday or Saturday evening.
