This Week’s Menu

This week I’m delighted to announce the first of what, we hope, will be a series of evening events, Worton Nights, over the winter months.

Our first Worton Night on Friday 10th November is definitely one to remind us of the sun and the South. We are teaming up with some of our favourite wine makers, Deborah and Peter Core of Mas Gabriel of Caux Nr Pezenas in the Languedoc to offer a tutored tasting of their full range of wines with each paired with a carefully chosen accompanying food course. So a paired tasting of food and wines to highlight our harvest menu and to bring out the best in the wines.

Full details and tickets for this special evening are available by clicking here. Do book early as we have limited availability on this occasion.

For anyone visiting over the next few days, please do check your phone’s navigation app to figure the best way of getting to the farm. The final, we hope (!), repair works to the railway bridge on the Yarnton Road that partially collapsed in the Spring are currently underway. The works are due to complete late afternoon on Friday but may, of course, run over. Until they finish, the bridge itself is completely closed to traffic and you may need to re-route via Bladon or Cassington.

Please do persist though as we will have a delicious menu and produce waiting for you! On the seafood side we will have fresh Plaice, Cod, Mussels and Cuttlefish available in the shop and on the table. We will also have great Saddleback Pork in various guises as two of the girls made the trip to Long Compton last week. Following several weeks of Michaelmas Geese as the Sunday Roast, we will return to Roast Pork Shoulder on Sunday. As part of our continuing quest to use all elements of any animals we keep, the very last of the Michaelmas geese will be served as Goose Liver Pate with Rye Toasts and Quince.

The whole team look forward to welcoming you this weekend.
