Too early to think about Christmas?

It’s always difficult to know when to start talking about Christmas … it still feels far too early to me!  Perhaps this morning’s sharp frost (see our strawberry plants above) is enough excuse …

We will have lots of opportunities to welcome you to the farm during December.  If you are charged with organising your company or department Christmas party, why not look at our indulgent banqueting menus – there’s still plenty of availability for group bookings whether corporate or personal and we will be happy to open any evening of the week for groups for 20 or more.

For smaller groups, we will be offering a Christmas menu on each service from 4th to 24th December – this menu is on the website here.

Finally, and perhaps most exciting, we will be open, for the first time ever, on Christmas Day itself.  If the thought of the big day is too daunting, take a look at our lavish Christmas Day Menu.   Let the team here take all the pressure off – we’ll serve you with a luxurious menu catering for traditionalists, vegetarians and vegans alike – no arguments, no straight jacket of tradition, no pressure, no washing up(!) just luxurious and delicious food served here at the farm where the wood fires will be burning, the wines will be flowing and good cheer will abound.

Before we get to December, there’s plenty to entice you to the farm over there next few weeks.  This weekend, we have some great fish and seafood up from Cornwall – despite the earlier storms, we have today taken delivery of Plaice, Cod, Cock Crabs and Cockles – all will be available in the shop and the restaurant.

Next weekend, there are still some tickets available for our Hunter’s Moon Supper Club.  The evening will be a celebration of game and wild food so the menu may vary depending on what is available.  Our current plan is to serve Wild Rabbit Rillette, Foraged Mushroom Soup, Roe Deer Wellington and Damson Pavolva.   If you would like to join us, click here.
