Wonderful Sicilian Blood Oranges!

The forecast may be a somewhat “inclement” this week but the team here at the farm are really excited to be back providing for you.

The bakery and shop will be fully stocked and open from 10 am tomorrow morning. We will be providing the normal full service in the shop together with Contactless Delivery or Click and Collect. 2021 opening hours will be 10am till 4pm from Wednesday through to Sunday. Our first day open will be tomorrow 20th January.

Lots of citrus fruit this week from Sicily and Spain and even Mexico! Alongside juicy Clementines, Oranges, Pink Grapefruit and Lemons, we have Mexican Limes and, the real treats for jaded January palates, musky, sweet blood oranges and the vibrant, sharp Seville oranges. As well as fruit, you will be able to buy jars of marmalade both Seville Orange and Pink Grapefruit together with slices of Grapefruit and Pistachio Cake and Seville Orange Tart.

From our friends in Cornwall, we will have glistening white Monkfish, Mackerel, Wild Sea Bass and live Cockles – these fish are scheduled to arrive Thursday morning and we have very limited quantities this week so its well worth ordering online.

On a less upbeat note, we have been advised by the Dutch farmer who has been supplying us with farmhouse Gouda for many years that he will no longer be able to get his products across the Channel. We have a limited stock in store but after that there will be no more – for anyone who really likes these delicious cheeses, you need to move quickly! Going forward, we will be increasing the range of British cheeses we carry. Let us know your favourite quirky, local, farmhouse cheeses and we will do our best to get them in the shop!
