Fresh, local Pheasant on the menu this weekend. Our first game of the season has been delivered and we are busy plucking and prepping so that we have delicious seasonal treats on the menu. I will be cooking the Pheasant with Cider, Calvados and Cream – Phaisan Façon Pays d’Auge as the French might say.
A full range of seafood from Cornwall again – we will have Hen Crabs, Scallops, Hake, Whole Plaice, Monkfish and clams which we will be serving in a Portuguese style “Bulhão Pato”
There are still a few tickets available for our first evening event of the year. Professor Charles Spence will be joining us to present a talk based on his most recent book, Gastrophysics: The New Science of Eating. The evening will comprise a dinner with courses designed to illustrate some of Charles’ ideas, some experiments and the chance to chat to Charles himself. You will leave with a signed copy of his book. Click here to buy your tickets.
Finally this week, advance notice that our resident Potter, Vivien Shelton, will be holding her first exhibition at the farm next weekend. You may already know Vivien as the Doyenne of Plantation Chocolates – we sell her delicious wares in the shop – you may well not know that she is also an accomplished potter and has been working for several months in the Potting Shed here. She will be exhibiting her new Ceramics from 10-4 on 3rd, 4th and 5th December and will be delighted if you drop by to have a look or perhaps even buy a Christmas present.
We look forward to welcoming you over the coming days
