A celebration of seafood this Valentine’s Weekend

Lots of seafood from Cornwall this week!

Sweet, delicate whole Plaice for roasting, Skate wings to serve with brown butter and capers or plump, juicy Mussels.

For those looking to celebrate with a special meal, we have two stress-free possibilities this Valentine’s Weekend…

The amorous might try our fabulous, native Fal oysters (pictured above) a real treat on their own – even better served with a glass or two of our house Cava!  You can buy the oysters to shuck yourself or buy an ingredients box of 12 shucked oysters, a lemon, a pot of shallot vinegar and bottle our sparkly Cava, Petit Albet, from Penedes.

Those seeking pure luxury might opt for scallops!   Available on their own or as part of an ingredients box with confit garlic, parsley, lemon, butter and a bottle of our voluptuous Roussanne, Frelin No 35 from Pezenas.

As we come to the end of our own fresh apples for another year, we’ve decided to celebrate what was an exceptional harvest by cooking the final apples into delicious Tartes Tatin.  We will also be holding tastings of our wonderful juices for those visiting the shop.   As well as two different blends of apple juice, No3 and No4, and one of quince, we also have single variety juices (Tydeman’s Late Orange and Laxton’s Superb) that are quite exceptional.

Anyone visiting the shop this weekend will be able to taste samples of the whole range of apple and quince juices and will also be able to buy boxes of 6 bottles for the price of 5.

We hope lots of you will brave the weather and and come to share a glass of juice.
