After what feels like a very long Winter, we are at last about to re-open the restaurant. Of course, we will only be able to offer outside tables so numbers are limited and you may need to wrap up warm but we are very excited to be able to cook for you all again from next Wednesday.
The online booking system will be fully live from tomorrow evening but as a huge Thank You for all our regular customers and for your support over the last year, we are now accepting email bookings from those receiving this email. If you send me an email to this address with all the details of your request, we will book a table for you and send confirmation before the main system goes live. Remember, we have two morning slots at 10 or 11 for Coffee and Cake or two lunch slots at 12 /12.30 or 2/2.30. We will be open and serving from Wednesday 14th through to Sunday 18th and again for the following 4 or 5 weeks until, we hope, we are able to resume full service.
From the greenhouse, we have harvested the first crops sown this year in beautiful, crisp radishes and deep green Pak Choi. Many more things to follow over the coming weeks – if you are visiting the farm this weekend, we do encourage you to look in the green houses to see how quickly things are growing now the days are lengthening.
Another difficult week for the fishermen down in the Channel but we have managed to secure a few Brown Crabs – our first of the year! We have also got Wild Seabass, Hake, Skate wings, Native Oysters and Scallops. A good range then but small quantities of each this week – better to order online than be disappointed! Also, due to the Bank Holiday, the seafood will not be arriving till Friday AM.
As ever we will be delighted to welcome you this week either to shop or to have a coffee and cake and to wonder round the gardens. The forecast for the weekend may not be great, but the plants are growing, the birds are singing and there’s always something beautiful to see!
