For the Love of a Good Beer?

On Friday 14th February, we are delighted to welcome Rupert Ponsonby, Founder of the Beer and Cider Academy who will be hosting a beer tasting and talk illustrating the history of beer.

Rupert is a true renaissance man with interests stretching from being a Cotswold farmer to running a PR firm focusing on food and drink. He also features regularly as a Beer Expert on television shows ranging from Heston Blumenthal to Richard and Judy! As if that weren’t enough, he is a co-Founder of Mr Trotters Pork Cracklings, makers of perhaps the finest pork scratchings in the world. If we are lucky, he will be bringing some samples along on the evening!

Prior to dinner, we will get to sample some unique and different varieties of beer from the UK and around Europe. Rupert will conduct a tutored tasting of the beers and give us a history of the different styles and their development. Rupert is a witty and relaxed raconteur and this promises to be a very entertaining and informative evening. The tasting will be followed by a dinner with each course designed to match the two beers served.

The evening will kick off with a chance to meet Rupert from 7pm – the tasting will run from 7.30-8 and we will then serve a 4 course dinner with two matched beers per course.  The cost for the evening is £45 and, as ever, tickets are available at the farm from David or Simon. Additionally, you can now buy tickets direct from Eventbrite by following this link.
