It’s still cold and frosty but it’s also bright and beautiful. The days are noticeably lengthening and life is returning to the farm! Buds are swelling, bulbs sending up their first leaves – the very first signs of Spring are all around.
We are all delighted to be returning and re-opening for this weekend. A couple of days later than we had planned – these hard frosts have played havoc with our pipes and plumbing! So all set to serve our first 2023 customers from 10am this Friday morning. The sourdough starters are being revived, the shelves stocked, marmalades are being prepared and we are excited to open again.
For anyone who had been planning to come this Wednesday or Thursday or, indeed, anyone who doesn’t want to wait till Friday, we will be fully open in our new cafe – The Coffee Shack by WKG from 8.30 to 4.30 every Monday to Friday. Situated on the other side of Worton Park, we had a soft opening last Autumn and are excited to do a full launch this month. Fuelled by a mighty Expresso machine from our friends at UE Coffee, the Coffee Shack offers a cafe style menu including Bacon Sandwiches and Over-Night Oats from 8.30am followed by Sandwiches, Soups, Baked Potatoes, Frittata and Salads through till 4.30pm each weekday. Of course, you can also buy our signature cakes and pastries either to eat-in, to eat at the outside tables or to takeaway. For those who can’t wait til the weekend to restock on our marmalades, jams, pickles, drinking vinegars and juices, the Coffee Shack also carries a selection of our hand-made tracklements.
