Sultry Sun, Succulent Lemon Soles and Sumptuous Sorbets!

As the sun beats down this weekend, where better to while away an hour or two than in our beautiful gardens?  Choose one of our shady tables in the orchard or under the walnut tree and enjoy a glass of iced white or perhaps a glass of our new Pinot Noir from the Davenport Vineyard in East Sussex – served chilled, this is a delicious, light red just made for summer!

Our produce keeps coming and the shop is full of crisp greens and salads all picked fresh each morning.  We also have our great single varietal apple juices – why not try some of the unusual heritage varieties from the orchard – Belle de Boskoop, Warner’s King or Golden Noble are our current favourites!

Although we have a break from our own fresh fruit for a week or two, we have been busy in the kitchen and you can sample our Blackcurrants either as a jam with Croissants in the morning or as a dessert one of two ways – Blackcurrant Frangipane or the sublime Blackcurrant and Mint Sorbet.

More excellent fresh fish arriving from Cornwall tomorrow morning – we will have Lemon Soles, Mackerel and Cuttlefish for sale in the shop or on the menu in the restaurant.

We are now firmly into our summer opening hours and will be serving Dinner on Friday and Saturday evenings through till the Autumn.  Alternatively, why not pop in for a cocktail or a glass of fizz to enjoy the cooler late afternoon sun between 4 and 6 tomorrow or Saturday?

We look forward to welcoming you to the farm again this week, whether you come to shop, to breakfast, to lunch or, on Friday or Saturday, for dinner.
