Who knew Radishes could be so tasty?

Another Bank Holiday and we’re open all the way through. We still have some tables available for Breakfast and Lunch tomorrow, on Sunday and Bank Holiday Monday. Why not join us for some lovely seasonal treats, some fantastic fresh fish and a relaxing space away from the hurly burly of the Coronation?

In the shop we have more delicious things – joining the Organic Asparagus from Bedlam Farms in Suffolk and Alphonso Mangos from India, we now have delicious Loquats from Spain another brief seasonal treat but well worth seeking out. If you’re unsure about them, why not ask our new shopkeeper, Nick, to cut you a sample to taste?

From our own fields, we have Spring Onions, Aillettes, Puntarella, Bok Choi, Calcots and glistening day-picked Radishes. Eat the latter at home or in the restaurant where we serve them with butter and salt as a delicious appetiser. Wherever you eat them, do remember to eat the leaves – quite delicious in their own right, they taste like a mild rocket.

From Cornwall we once again have some fantastic seafood for this special weekend: plenty of Lemon Sole – Oven Roasted with Beurre Noisette, Pink Fir Potatoes and Catalogna; Cock Crabs – served in the shell with Rye Toast, Salad and Sorrel Mayonnaise; Hake Cutlets served in the Goan Curry and, for the first time in several months, beautiful Cuttlefish braised in its own Ink and served on crispy Polenta.

The whole team look forward to greeting you again over the Bank Holiday weekend.
