Celebrating the Lunar New Year

A return to our favourite meat this weekend in honour of the Lunar New Year … It may be the Year of the Dragon but we’ll be cooking a wide range of pork dishes to celebrate the Chinese New Year … the Chinese are, after all, the largest consumers of pork in the world.  They may eat large per capita quantities but we’re willing to bet that none of it is as tasty as our home grown meat!

So four of last Autumn’s piglets have found their way to the kitchen this weekend.  As well as the most delicious Tuscan Fennel Sausages (for sale in the restaurant and the shop), we also have Szechuan Style Trotters, Char Siu Loin and Sticky Ribs on the restaurant menu.

Alternatively, for those who prefer seafood, we have St Austell Mussels, Roast Plaice and Cornish Monkfish with Bayonne Ham and Beluga Lentils.

As an aside, a big apology to those of you who were unable to visit the farm today due to the sudden and dramatic flooding.  For the first tome for 3 years we were inundated when a local drainage culvert got blocked.  The blockage has now been cleared and we are delighted to confirm we will be fully open, if slightly bedraggled, tomorrow from 10am.
