They’re back at last …
After a couple of years without, we are delighted to have the Tulips back and growing generously.
Three years ago we lost the entire crop to Tulip Fire, two years ago we had a rodent invasion after the flooding of the Thames and its flood plain with the same results. Disheartened, we didn’t plant last year… But the truth is, there are no flowers so bold and beautiful in the Spring garden. From the delicate pastels through to the dazzling primaries, nothing really compares. So last Autumn we decided to have one more attempt – 7000 bulbs were planted and we are relieved and delighted that they are growing strongly.
From the early radiance in the glasshouse to the burgeoning beauty of the cut flower garden we have an increasing number of tulips to bolster the Narcissi and Ranunculus. Do come and have a leisurely coffee and cake or lunch gazing out on ur cut flower garden. Of course, you can also leave with a bunch or two of beautiful blooms for your own house!
A long weekend then and we will be serving brunch and lunch from tomorrow through to Monday. We will also be serving dinner on Friday and Saturday for the first time this year – as the evenings lengthen, there really is nowhere more beautiful for an early supper. A few dinner slots are still available so why not join us? Click here
