All change as we move to high summer crops …

All change this week – firstly, the works to convert the shop into tables for the restaurant are pretty much complete. We now have a a beautiful space for 4 or 5 tables with several pieces of work by our Artist in Residence Stacey Gledhill on the walls. These new tables provide a cool, shaded space with a view of the long flower borders during the “heat” of summer, extra inside tables for dining during the winter or a lovely private room for a family party at any time of year.

In terms of the farm, the season is really racing on with some of our favourite summer crops now on stream. This is the first week for Padron Peppers, Tomatillos, Courgettes and Cucumbers and our various Heritage Tomatoes go from strength to strength. All the above and more are available to buy in the shop and also feature on our summer menu. The Padrons are available as a starter – though beware, they are a Russian Roulette dish with occasional fierce heat – unusual for this early in their season! The tomatoes are in several dishes and show-cased on the starter menu where they feature in the Tomato, Labneh and Lovage Salad and the refreshing Gazpacho.

From Cornwall, fantastic fresh fish with a new delivery on Saturday morning. More of the plump Plaice, Cock Crabs and meaty Hake fillets are heading up from Newlyn.

As the sun returns over the weekend, we look forward to welcoming you either for a leisurely lunch, an evening cocktail or a dinner sitting outside among the flowers as the sun sets.
