Lots of festive cheer this week as we turn our thoughts fully towards Christmas.
Firstly, I am delighted to let you know that the Christmas order system is live on the website. An extension of our weekly system, you will be able to book for Click and Collect as normal this weekend and also for next Tuesday 22nd Dec and Wednesday 23rd. As a first this year, you will also be able to pre-order a Christmas box and have us deliver to your home – good if you’re shielding or just too busy to visit us. We will be open in the shop and restaurant on both days so you will be able to add to your online order if you come to collect and perhaps also stop in for a bite of lunch to ease the stress of shopping!
As a big thank you for all your support during this uncomfortable year, we will be offering a free glass of mulled wine or a mince pie to anyone who comes to the farm next week whether to collect a pre-ordered box or to shop or lunch. We hope lots of you can make a little time to have a chat and share a toast to a healthy and happy New Year.
In the shop (and online) we have lots of festive goodies as well as the normal fruit, vegetables, fish and bakery items. We have just taken delivery of some delicious cheeses from The Netherlands and from Westcombe Dairy in Somerset. There will be fresh fish from Cornwall again this weekend – Megrim Sole, Whiting, Mussels, Scallops, Mackerel and Monkfish. Also, by popular demand, we will be making more sausages which will be available only on Tuesday and Wednesday. By way of gifts, we have lots of hand-crafted unique items from the team here at WKG – more wonderful wreaths together with strings of our dried house chillies, wonderful beeswax candles hand made by our bee-keeper Mark and celebratory sharing slabs of chocolate from Vivien at Plantation Chocolates.
Another first – we now have Gift Vouchers available. You can buy these as a gift or, indeed, suggest them as a gift for yourself! The vouchers are available online here and can be spent either in the shop or the restaurant.
Our opening hours are as normal this week so the shop will be open Wednesday to Sunday- the restaurant will be open the same days for lunch and on Saturday evening for candlelit suppers. Next week both the shop and the restaurant will be open Tuesday and Wednesday from 10am to 4pm.
We really hope that many of you will come and join us for a toast of mulled wine and a festive mince pie over the next few days.
