Mid November and our thoughts are turning to Christmas. If you are thinking of holding a Christmas party or perhaps a special anniversary or birthday party, why not talk to us about hiring one of our rooms? Many of you have already held celebrations at the farm – we’re always happy to discuss booking all or part of the glasshouse or the old cafe. We can do a range of menus, a buffet or a la carte – we can provide the wines or you can bring your own and we’ll just charge corkage. Whichever format you choose, we’ll make sure its a special occasion and that you and your guests have a lovely time!
At the farm this week we are celebrating a great fennel crop – we are serving it 3 ways – pickled with Grilled Cornish Sardines, steamed to accompany our sharing dish of Oven Roast Brill or as an unctuous, warming Cream of Fennel Soup. We also share the first results of our autumn cabbage pickling – freshly made, spicy Kimchi served with Rye Toasts.
Continuing with the sensational Longhorn beef from Hampton Gay (we took delivery of another side of well aged beef last Friday), we will be serving the French bistro favourite, Bavette aux Echalottes and for those looking for a bit more spice, Beef Rendang. The latter using fresh lemon grass and chillis from the greenhouses.
We look forward to welcoming you over the coming days
