Even in the Darkest, Coldest days …

Even in the very darkest, coldest days of winter, nature drives on…  One of our favourite flowers, the Hellebore, our Christmas Rose, takes advantage of being the only plant above ground in the border to open its stunning if often overlooked flowers.   If you have a chance this weekend, why not come up to the farm to see the Hellebores or to check on the progress of our month old piglets?

After our brief mid-winter break, we are delighted to be back!  We re-open at 10am on Friday morning serving Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner on Friday and Saturday followed by our delicious Sunday lunch – the 18 hour Roast Saddleback Shoulder has also returned!

If our warming, nutritious, delicious menu isn’t quite enough to persuade you that it’s time to waiver a resolution or two, we also have a couple of events to tempt you! Saturday’s Fermentation Workshop (actually, that probably wouldn’t even involve breaking any resolutions!) is now sold out but Friday evening’s Sip and Paint still has a few places available – click here!

Next week, we are back to Supper Clubs – our first of the year will be a joyous Burns Night Supper hosted by Professor Barry Smith of UCL and Radio 4.  The evening will celebrate payday, the completion of a month’s abstinence (or not!) and, as ever, fantastic produce – Cock-a-Leekie (from the yard), Haggis from the Highlands, Tatties and Neeps and Cranachan served with the last of the Raspberries we put aside in the Autumn.

The Piper will play an air or two, Barry will first toast the pudding and then lead a tutored tasting of Whiskies and Malts.  What better way to thumb your nose at the darkness and the cold and to join with nature in looking forward to the year ahead?  Get tickets by clicking here
