The Equinox today and Easter next week – the year is racing onwards! The days are much longer now and even if the slightly grey spring weather lasts for a few more weeks, there is also more heat. Let’s hope the rain stays away so the team can get back on track with raising our beds and planting out this years vegetables!
Some beautiful flowers starting to emerge – at least in the glasshouses! Lots of great produce in the shop and tempting food on the menu in the restaurant – this week’s menu is below.
Looking ahead to next weekend and beyond, we have a glut of events to announce. Firstly we have Easter Egg Hunts on Good Friday – our favourite child’s entertainer Elaine is visiting and will host two hunts for our younger guests – lots of fun activities – hunting for the Easter Eggs, collecting fresh eggs from the hen house, meeting some of our new chicks and lots more. From Good Friday we are opening Friday and Saturday evenings again – to celebrate this, on Easter Saturday, we are hosting the hugely talented Oxley-Meier Guitar Project for their traditional Easter concert. Jazz guitar playing of the highest order accompanied by a tasty meal in our glasshouse – what’s not to like? Tickets are selling fast but there are some still available – click here.
The following week we are launching our new Floral Fundamentals Gardening Workshops. These monthly events start with a workshop with the hugely talented Jonny Bruce our head garden designer – Jonny will talk about how to plan a garden border and will do a walk round the garden and a practical demonstration for those keen to understand how the long borders at Worton are put together. There will be plenty of opportunity to talk with Jonny during the morning and at the lunch he will host in the glass house afterwards.

Finally, we have just opened booking for the next 2 of our monthly Supper Clubs – Spring Chickens on Friday 5th April and Weeds from the Yard on Friday 3rd May. More details of each of these are available on the website – click here
