Sublime Seafood from Cornwall!

Of course, we have lots of our own produce at the moment. Delicious Blackcurrants, Gooseberries and Jostaberries picked fresh each morning, Turnips, Beetroot, French Beans, Lettuce, Spring Cabbage, Fresh Herbs and so much more.

For a change though this week, I wanted to highlight the really exceptional produce coming up from Cornwall from our friends at Flying Fish – the freshest imaginable day boat fish and seafood. Once again we have Plaice, sweet, delicate and plump, We also have Cock Crabs bursting with white claw meat and Hake served as part of our Goan Fish Curry. Last but definitely not least, we have Mussels from Porthilly – as it’s their first appearance for several months, we will be serving them simply as Moules Marinieres – gently steamed open in butter, white wine, shallot and parsley.

For anyone who hasn’t tried it yet, why not come along and join us for a cocktail or early evening meal tomorrow or Saturday? It looks like the weather will be kind, particularly tomorrow and the gardens always look their best in the early evening.

The whole team look forward to greeting you over the coming weekend.
