Wonderful apple blossom this Mayday weekend

The weather may be a little fresher this weekend but it still looks like pleasant spring sunshine in parts. The gardens here at the farm are looking better and better with wonderful apple blossom bursting out all over.  We hope many of you will wrap up a little more tightly and still come to eat delicious food over the next few days.  Perhaps you will even take advantage of our new bank holiday opening next Monday.  The website has just been updated and you can now book tables for Monday for breakfast or lunch.

On the menu this week we have even more Worton produce with Calcots and Romesco Sauce joining our Radishes with Salt and Butter.  Both picked within minutes of being served for maximum freshness and flavour.  Of course, our pumpkins were picked many months ago but the long slow curing of the hard skinned winter varieties mean that Blue Hubbard and Crown Prince are getting more delicious week by week.  Both are for sale in the shop and both feature on this week’s menu in the restaurant.

From Thursday we will again have Cornish day boat fish from Newlyn and shellfish from Constantine. This week we will have Lemon Sole, Haddock Fillets, Lobster, Scallops and Wild Mussels.

Finally, we are reaching the very end of our tulips for the year.  The glorious blooms of the last 6 weeks have been even better, we think, than previous years.  Do come and select your own blooms in the shop or order on-line to be sure of getting one of the last bunches.
