As you will have seen if you’ve visited the farm over the last few weeks, the first of our spring bulbs are bursting into flower – we have wonderful dwarf Iris, Narcissi and heavenly scented Hyacinths – all presented in beautiful hand thrown pots from Willow Pottery. This week we also have the first cut stems of the Spring Harvest – various Narcissi from our green houses are in perfect form right now and a fantastic pick-me-up for these cold stormy days. Harbingers of what we hope will be a stunning display of Spring bulbs unfurling over the next month or two.
The atrocious weather over the last 10 days mean that there was no fish or seafood on the market this week so, for the first time in two years, we have nothing available to buy in the shop and very limited fish in the restaurant.
The generosity of our pigs continues – fresh Rillette’s, Pork Scratchings and Szechuan Ribs on the menu this week as we work our way through the whole animals. At the weekend we will also have a new dish – meltingly tender and flavourful Chermoula Roast Mutton with Couscous .
We do hope to see you over the coming days
